A concise list of the most commonly used terms within Triparound and the corresponding definitions.

  • Add-on: When making a booking, an add-on refers to an additional service, feature, item or price that can be included with the primary booking. These are optional extras that enhance or customize the experience.

  • Agreement: Refers to the arrangement between the Business and a Supplier, which determines certain parameters of the co-operation such as commission, financial applications, data sharing and feature capabilities.

  • Analytics: Refers to web analytics service offered by Google that helps Businesses track and analyze the traffic and user behavior on Triparound widgets and emails. It provides insights into how visitors/customers interact with the widgets and emails, which pages they visit, where they come from, and other valuable data to improve your online presence, marketing strategies, and user experience.

  • API (Application Programming Interface): Refers to a software intermediary that enables two applications to communicate with each other. APIs provide a convenient way to access and share data both within and between organizations.

  • Audit: Is a dedicated page that logs and displays records of activities, changes or various events related to the use or operation of that specific section within the platform.

  • Availability: Refers to the condition or status of products, services, or resources being accessible or open for booking by customers.

  • Bank Fee: Refers to the charge that a business/merchant incurs when accepting payments from customers using credit/debit cards. These fees are typically paid to the payment gateway.

  • Blocked Days: Refer to specific dates or periods when products are intentionally marked as unavailable for booking. These days are "blocked off" in the Triparound platform to prevent customers from making reservations during that time.

  • Booking Model: Refers to the structure or process with which the Business chooses to handle the booking confirmation processes and how reservations are handled in different instances, particularly in the context, internal business procedures, supplier relationships and more importantly factors affecting availability.

  • Booking: Refers to the making and securing a reservation in advance for a specific date or period. This can involve making a reservation for a specific activity, restaurant, or any other service offered by a hospitality provider.

  • Business Account: Refers to a user-specific profile that provides access to the platform's features and services. It is created when a user registers or subscribes to the platform and serves as the unique identifier for a user within the system and is linked to their login credentials (such as a username and password).

  • Capacity: Refers to the maximum number participants or resources that the specific product can accommodate at any given time. It represents the limit of the available space, resources, or infrastructure that can be utilized to serve customers.

  • Categories: Are like the folders and subfolders on your computer, offering a means of organizing your products so that they can be presented through the Triparound Widget in an orderly and efficient manner.

  • Commission Model: Refers to the Agreement between the Business and the Supplier. Specifically, it refers to a payment structure where the Business (a hotel), receives a commission from the Supplier (an activity provider) for each successful booking or sale they generate. The commission is either a percentage of the total booking amount or a fixed amount and can be applied on either the net or selling price.

  • Coupons: Refers to a discount code that can be used to reduce the cost of a product. Coupons can come in various forms and serve different purposes, and they are often used as promotional tools or incentives to attract customers.

  • CRM (Customer Relationship Management): Refers to a tool or software that helps businesses manage and analyze interactions with current and prospective customers. It stores customer data, tracks communications, and automates various sales, marketing, and customer service processes, with the simple goal of strengthening relationships and to drive business growth.

  • Customer: Refers to any individual or group who seeks or purchases services offered by the hospitality provider.

  • Customer Journey: Refers to the entire experience a customer has with the hospitality provider, from the initial point of contact through to post-departure. It encompasses all the interactions a customer has with a brand, both physical and digital, and covers every phase of their stay or service use.

  • Dependencies: Refers to specific factors (resource, operator etc.) that may affect the actual availability of the schedule. Dependencies may vary depending on the product type.

  • Discount: Refers to a reduction in the price of a product. Discounts are often used as stand-alone promotional tools or in conjunction with Coupons to attract customers, encourage bookings, or offer special pricing for specific groups or times.

  • Emails: Found within the Marketing Section, the Emails feature allows the Business to create email templates that can be sent either manually or automatically.

  • Groups: Refers to the filters that appear on the first step of the booking process and are used to create alternative booking, schedule and pricing paths based on variables such as duration, vehicle, age group etc.

  • Guest App: Refers to the Triparound web application designed to enhance the customers’ experience during their stay. It provides a range of information and features concerning the customers’ trip, such as a day-to-day itinerary, payment services, reservation/booking services and features that help guests interact with the property, manage their bookings, and access services conveniently.

  • Guest Guides: Refers to a tool that allows the Business to create informational material and present it to customers through the Triparound Guest App. This feature allows the Business transition from traditional PDFs to dynamic solutions, whilst presenting important information in an organized and creative manner. Each Guest Guide can relate to one or more accommodation units and can be shared with the guests on their respective itinerary.

  • Guest Types: Refers to the selection of parameters that allow the Business to choose the specific behavior of the price within a product e.g. the price to remain the same regardless of the number of participants.

  • Integration: Refers to the process of connecting different software systems, applications, or platforms in order to share data and functionality with a goal to improve efficiency, workflows, and ensure a more cohesive user experience.

  • Itinerary: Refers to a work environment in the back-office section of Triparound where the detailed plan or schedule outlining the travel and accommodation arrangements for a customer can be built and managed.

  • Master Account: Refers to an Account that provides the capability for an organization with multiple Businesses (hotels, locations etc.) to view and manage all the aspects of the various businesses such as bookings, products and reports in one place.

  • Communication Settings: Refers to the methods of communications that are available to the Business. Communications by email, SMS or WhatsApp can be directed to the Customers and the Supplier during various stages of their respective journeys.

  • Operator: Refers to the individual or individuals responsible for the execution of a specific activity or activities. Operators can be shared between several products in order to manage availability e.g. Tennis Coach, Massage therapist etc.

  • Participants: Refers to any individual or group that participates in any bookable activities, services, or operations offered.

  • Payment Gateway: Refers to a merchant service offered by an e-commerce application provider that enables the completion of credit/debit card transactions.

  • PMS (Property Management System): Refers to a software application used within the hospitality industry to manage front desk operations, reservations, check-ins, check-outs, guest profiles and billing.

  • Products: Refers to the available product subcategories in which products can be logged by the Business: Experiences, Restaurants, Rentals, Transfers, Services and Accommodations.

  • Referral Source: Refers to a specific parameter that is included in the widget booking link, that allows the Business to identify the source of the action and monitor customer behavior when the customer visits a specific Triparound widget. The Referral Source is usually used to indicate where the booking originated from e.g. QR code, Mobile App, Web site etc.

  • Resource: Refers to an inanimate object that is necessary for the execution of the specific activity or service. Resources can be shared between several products in order to manage availability e.g. Tennis court, Massage room etc.

  • Schedule: Refers to a detailed plan or timetable that outlines dates, times and other key parameters required to determine the accessibility of a specific product. It is a key component in managing availability, operators, resources and ensuring that everything runs according to plan.

  • Supplier Account: Refers to a user-specific profile only for Suppliers that provides limited access to the platform's features and services. It is created when a Supplier is invited (by a Business) and consequently registers on the platform.

  • Tickets: Refers to the capability of creating and scanning tickets for an activity or event using QR codes.

  • Transaction: Refers to a reservation that is associated with one or more bookings.

  • Triparound service fee: Refers to the agreed upon fee charged by Triparound for each transaction made through the Triparound platform. It is invoiced on a quarterly basis.

  • Type: Found within the filters of the Bookings Table, the filter named “Type” indicates if a booking has been made Offline (using the back-office book now button) or Online (using the Widget).

  • User: Refers to an individual who has been granted access to the Triparound platform by using a login process (such as a username and password) to authenticate and verify their identity. This access provides the user with the ability to interact with the software, view, modify, or manage data, and use the software's features according to their level of permissions.

  • Vouchers: Pre-paid certificates of specific monetary value that can be redeemed by customers for a specific service, product, or experience.

  • Widget: Refers to the self-contained application or component available through Triparound, that can be embedded into a website, app, or system to provide content and booking functionalities. The Widget is designed to be interactive and easy to integrate, offering customers seamless experience.
