How to connect your Triparound account with your Google Tag Manager

Find out how to use the Google Tag Manager feature on Triparound.

Updated over a month ago

This feature enables the connection of Triparound with Google Tag Manager through the tags that have already been set up in your Google Tag Manager.

This allows clicks on the various Triparound widgets and bookings completed through them to be tracked.

To connect your Google Tag Manager with Triparound, navigate to Analytics found under More > Integrations.

To initiate the process, click on Active and set up the required fields.

  • Google Analytics ID: This is a unique identifier for a Google Analytics account, used to track and report website traffic. It typically looks like `UA-XXXXXX-Y`.

  • Analytics Data Layer Variable: This is a JavaScript object used in Google Tag Manager (and other tag management systems) to pass information from a website to analytics and marketing tools. It standardizes and organizes data, making it easier to track user interactions and events on a website. The data layer variable acts as an intermediary between your website and the tags, ensuring accurate data collection.

  • Google Tag Manager ID: This is a unique identifier for a Google Tag Manager container, which helps manage and deploy marketing tags (such as tracking and analytics codes) on a website without modifying the code directly. It usually starts with `GTM-`.

  • Google Adwords ID: Also known as Google Ads Customer ID, this is a unique identifier for a Google Ads account, used for managing ad campaigns. It is a 10-digit number formatted like `XXX-XXX-XXXX`.

  • Google Adwords Conversion Code: This is a piece of code provided by Google Ads that you place on your website to track conversions, such as sales or sign-ups, resulting from your Google Ads campaigns. It helps measure the effectiveness of your ads.

Notes:

  • The codes inserted will be incorporated into the widget(s).

  • Unique widgets (URLs) can be created with different Referral Source for each widget generated within the platform. This ensures the source of each booking is identified and tracked. To do so, navigate to the Booking Button feature under More > Guest Facing.

More information on how to create a widget can be found here.
