The newly redesigned widget offers a sharper look, smarter functionality and a smoother user experience. This update does not only refer to aesthetics but aims to make everyday interactions faster, clearer and more intuitive than ever before.
The main product elements that we recommend be addressed in advance include Tags, as well as Content and Media.
Changes to these elements are optional, as existing products will continue to work on the new widget and will not be affected.
Tags
Finding the perfect product match quickly may be difficult, especially when there are hundreds of products offered. The new widget addresses this challenge by placing a strong emphasis on filtering, helping guests navigate large product lists with ease and introduces Tags as an intuitive filtering mechanism that allows for an accurate and efficient search.
Reasons why Tags should be added to your products :
Easier setup: Tags can be added or updated without restructuring the display of products.
Faster results: Guests can quickly narrow down large lists of products.
Intuitive filtering: Tags are easy to understand and apply as guests can select or remove tags based on their preferences and needs.
Flexible refinement: Several tags can be combined to refine searches.
Consistency across content: Tags create a standardized way to categorize products, improving search accuracy.
Better user engagement: Tags encourage exploration and keep guests engaged as they explore related products.
How to set it up
To associate specific tags to specific products, navigate to the Fundamentals > About section of each specific product and locate Tag(s).
As the tag section is mandatory, there is always a pre-selected default tag associated with the specific product. Example: If an “Experience“ is created, then the tag “Experiences“ will be pre-selected by-default. If a “Service“ is created, then the tag “Services“ will be pre-selected by-default.
However, additional tags may be selected from the list provided.
Usability/ Display: The tag(s) allow for the specific product to be better segmented and easily located. The “Tags“ will appear as a filter option on the back-office booking process (through the dashboard BOOK NOW) and on the online booking process (through the widget) and can be used in order to easily search and locate products that have been associated with a specific tag(s).
Example
A sailing trip is created as an Experience and the tags selected are the following:
Experiences (default selection)
Nature & Outdoors
Entertainment
Food & Drink
Sea & Sun
Special Occasions
Tours & Activities
Display
The selected tags will appear as Filters on the widget - filtering by a specific tag will facilitate the process of searching and locating the specific product on the widget.
To apply specific filters on the widget, select the desired ones and click Apply filters.
This way, only the products associated with the specific filters will be displayed on the widget.
Content & Media
The new widget also introduces important updates to the Content & Media section of the products, bringing both structural and visual improvements. Alongside the introduction of new fields designed to better organize and enrich product information, certain fields will now use a default presentation to ensure a consistent and streamlined display. This combination enhances readability, reduces configuration effort and delivers a more uniform content experience across products.
For the purpose of this article, the following section will be focused on the new fields, as well as on the existing ones that have been affected by the widget redesign.
