How to create a new location

Set up locations to clearly define where activities take place, improve the guest experience and ensure accurate information across all touchpoints.

Locations define where an activity takes place - whether dining, an experience or a service - and play a key role in how this information is presented to customers. Setting up locations correctly ensures consistency across the widget, Guest App and notification emails, helping guests easily understand where to go.

For example, assigning the Fitness club as the meeting point for a yoga class ensures that the correct location is displayed everywhere the booking appears, reducing confusion and improving the overall experience.

Locations are also used across different product types, such as Transfers and Rentals, supporting how products are structured and displayed throughout the platform. The sections below outline how to create and manage them effectively.

How to set it up

To create a new location, follow the below steps:

Step 1: Navigate from the left-hand menu to More > Data Management > Locations.

Step 2: Before creating a new one, use Filters to search for the location and avoid duplicates.

Step 3: If the location does not already exist, click NEW LOCATION in the top right-corner.

Step 4: In the pop-up window, complete the required fields.

Search Location*: Start typing the address or location name and select the correct option from the dropdown (powered by Google Maps).

Note: This will automatically populate key fields such as Address, City, Country and Name.

Address: Auto-filled based on the selected location.

Description: Add helpful details to better identify the location (e.g., “next to the bakery shop”).

Note: For internal use only (not displayed to guests).

City: Auto-filled based on the selected location.

Country: Auto-filled based on the selected location.

Zip Code: Auto-filled based on the selected location.

Name*: Auto-filled based on the selected location. The name entered by the system may be edited to reflect the desired name.

Note: This is the name visible to both users and customers.

Category: Select the appropriate type from the available options (e.g., Address, Hotel, Airport).

Active: Activate or deactivate the location. The default setting is active.

Note: In case of Transfers, only active locations are visible in the booking widget and can be selected by customers.

Pin to top: If activated, pins the location at the top of the list with the locations in the booking widget.

Note: Applies to Transfers only.

Display location URL (map) on Guest Facing material: Controls whether the map link is shown in guest-facing elements. The default setting is active.

Note: When enabled, the map link is displayed in the Triparound widget, Guest App, and notification emails for products where the location is used as a meeting point (i.e. Experiences, Restaurants, Services). If disabled, the map will not be visible to customers in the aforementioned guest-facing elements.

SAVE once done.

Important

For both Transfers and Rentals, configuring the Location is a fundamental part of the product setup.

  • For Transfers:
Locations directly impact what customers can select as pickup and drop-off points. Keeping locations active, accurate, and well-named is essential for a smooth booking experience.

  • For Rentals:
Locations define where the rental service is available or delivered, ensuring clarity for both operations and customers.

Notes:

  • To associate a newly created location with a specific product, navigate to the product's Fundamentals > About section and select the required location in the appropriate field(s), depending on the product type:

  • To review the products associated with a specific location, navigate to More > Data Management > Locations, select a location and go to the Products tab.

Location URL (map) display

Once added, the location information (including map visibility, if enabled) appears across the following guest facing elements:

  • Widget

  • Guest App

  • Notification emails
